Our focus: "Interracial Adoption"

Callie and Lynea sit down with Rhonda Roorda, an award-winning author and adoptee, to explore the option of adoption and discuss strategies for supporting transracial adoptees—individuals adopted into a race different from their own. They cover topics such as how adoptive parents can honor their child’s culture, race, or ethnicity; the importance of encouraging more African American couples and other minorities to adopt; and how to approach those adopted transracially with the appropriate questions and behaviors, including the use of respectful language.
